The Canadian Arctic Weather Science (CAWS) is a science project to advance the knowledge necessary to understand the Arctic weather, climate, and cryosphereic systems, to test innovative technologies in support to the design of a cost-effective observing system for the Canadian Arctic, to validate space-based observations and support integration of space with ground-based network data, and to enhance the performance of the Canadian weather prediction system over the Canadian Arctic region. This is a science project led by ECCC and is committed with experimental data products only; as such all instruments operate in research mode.
